Police: 12-year-old Caught Stealing Gun from Lincoln Home

LINCOLN, Neb.-- Lincoln Police say a 12-year-old is in trouble after stealing a gun.

Police say sometime around 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Monday a homeowner discovered he was missing a gun from his home in the 4500 Block of St. Paul.

Officers quickly developed a suspect and contacted the minor at home. Police say the 12-year-old admitted to the theft and surrendered the gun.

Police tell 10/11 News the minor was referred to the Lancaster Youth Services Center.
