Police: Would-Be Robber Arrested After Chase

A man is behind bars after a failed robbery in Lincoln.

Just before 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, Lincoln Police were called to the Kwik Shop at 27th and W Streets on a report of a robbery.

Police tell 10/11 News a man entered the store and pointed either a shotgun at the clerk and demanded cash.

When the clerk took the cash out of the drawer, the would-be robber didn't take money and walked out.

LPD says they took 19 year-old Dimitri Marsh into custody a few blocks away, at 28th and Orchard, after a short foot chase.

Officers recovered a 20-gauge shotgun.

Marsh was arrested for attempted robbery and use of a weapon to commit a felony.

Police say they believe Marsh had a change of heart during the robbery and realized the serious nature of the crime.
