LINCOLN, Neb. -- Police have arrested a man on connection with several championship rings stolen from UNL head volleyball coach John Cook.

University of Nebraska Police report the rings were stolen late in September of last year.

According to UNL Police, 29-year-old Dallas Jordan was a construction worker during renovation at the Devaney Sports Complex. Much of the renovation work was done near volleyball coach John Cook's office, when the rings were stolen.

The Big 12 Championship rings from 2004 through 2007 along with the 2006 National Championship ring were discovered to have been stolen in October.

Documents filed with the courts show late last month, Jordan sold two rings to an undercover police officer, for $860.

Court documents show Jordan stole five rings from an unlocked display case inside Cook's office.

Jordan told police he was really high at the time he stole the rings.

A police affidavit shows Jordan told officers one of the three outstanding rings was given to someone in Nebraska City. Jordan told police two of the rings were stolen from him.

Each of the rings are valued at $325.

Jordan was arrested for the felonies of theft by unlawful taking and for aiding consummation of felony. He was cited for misdemeanor charges related to the case as well.

Jordan is currently in jail, awaiting his arraignment.
