Police Arrest Driver After Hitting House

Police have arrested a man for DUI after he struck the front steps of a house.

According to Lincoln Police Captain Jason Stille, about 1:30 a.m. officers were dispatched to 27th and J for a report of a car which struck a house.

Witnesses tell 10/11 News the driver was west on J Street and turned north on 27th then crossed the raised median, both lanes of southbound traffic, went into a driveway and struck the bricks which surround the stairs to the house.

Officers at the scene said the house was vacant at the time. The driver suffered only minor injuries and was transported to Bryan West for treatment.

The driver told officers he had been drinking.

According to Captain Jason Stille, the driver was cited for DUI.
