Lincoln Police arrested a man on suspicion of stealing from his neighbor while she was away receiving medical treatment for about a month.
According to police, the victim noticed someone broke into her home in the 3790 block of NW 50th Street sometime between November 1st and 25th.
The victim reported several stolen items including four flat-screen TVs, computer, printer, sewing machine and violin.
Police got a tip that 36-year-old Benjamin Sovereign's car was parked in the driveway last month. After searching Sovereign's home and camper, police reportedly found several of the stolen items, plus the victim's bank card. The victim was married to a Lincoln Police Officer who passed away in May of 2011; the deceased LPD officer's badge and documents were also recovered. While arresting Sovereign, police found 12 grams of meth in Sovereign's pockets.
Sovereign was arrested for burglary and possession of a controlled substance.
