A traffic stop led to a drug bust in Lincoln Tuesday morning.
Just before 2 a.m., police stopped a BMW for failing to signal near 15th and South streets. Police said the officer smelled marijuana when the driver rolled down her window.
The officer asked the passenger, 34-year-old Allen Peithman, to step out of the vehicle and found a loaded .45 caliber pistol in his pocket,$2,000 cash and 1.9 grams of methamphetamine.
Police arrested Peithman for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of money and a gun during a drug violation and carrying a concealed weapon.
Police also found five marijuana cigarettes in the car.
The driver, 21-year-old Amber Bertschinger, was cited and released for possession of marijuana and failure to signal.
