DO YOU HAVE A TIP FOR POLICE?
Police are investigating several robberies that happened within just hours of each other.
The first robbery happened at 5:30 Tuesday evening. A 29 year old man got a ride from a friend of a friend. During the drive the men got into an argument over where they were going. Eventually the driver stopped and let the man out, but then called to him. The driver got out of his car and hit the victim, then kicked him several times. He also pulled out a handgun and threatened to shoot the man before taking his wallet.
Then at 8:23 pm police were called to another robbery. A 35 year old man was parking his motorcycle in an alley near 20th and A.
That's when police say four black men approached him and said they were collecting wallets and wanted his. The victim said one of the men pulled out what he thought may be a gun and another came behind him and reached for his wallet. The victim yelled and the men ran without taking anything.
Six minutes later police say a group with the same description approached a 52 year old man near 21st and A. They asked him for cigarettes and he gave them some, but then they also asked him for money. He said he didn't have any and they left.
Then after 11pm a 39 year old delivery driver was attacked near 16 and D. Police say he was heading back to his truck when a man came up from behind and hit him in the head. The suspect also pointed a gun at the driver and demanded money. The driver gave him the delivery wallet from Davinci's, but the man also rummaged through the truck and took pasta and garlic bread before running down the alley.
Finally, 25 minutes later, at 46th and Randolph, a witness saw a man being robbed at gunpoint. The witness told police that one black male hit the victim in the face, pulled out a handgun, and took that victim's wallet.
Police don't believe all of the robberies are connected, but a few may be. They're asking that anyone with information call Lincoln Crimestoppers at 402-475-3600.
