Police Investigate Vandalism Spree Near Nebraska Wesleyan Campus

Police are investigating a rash of vandalism cases in northeast Lincoln.

Police have received 21 reports of vandalism near the Nebraska Wesleyan campus, said Officer Katie Flood.

Vehicles parked between 53rd to 60th streets from Colby to Adams streets had windows broken out with a BB gun.

Police believe most incidents happened sometime overnight Wednesday into early Thursday morning.

Students said they heard a popping noise overnight between midnight and 1 a.m.

Investigators say there is no indication that anything was taken from the vehicles, just damage.

Flood said police are still working to determine the total cost of damage done to the targeted vehicles. But for some, it's going to be pretty costly.

"Too much. For the window and the door, it's going to cost over a thousand dollars," said Caleb Lackaff, a Nebraska Wesleyan student.

Police have no suspects at this time.

Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers at 402-475-3600.
