Lincoln, Neb.-- Lincoln police say they're investigating a possible suspect in several apartment robberies.
A man, pretending to do maintenance checks, was able to steal property from at least four apartments Saturday morning.
According to reports, 23-year-old David Hanks was arrested later Saturday for possession of a controlled substance. While police were questioning Hanks, they discovered he had some of the stolen jewelry. They say Hanks is a suspect in the case, but has not been charged.
Authorities say the suspect was claiming to check for asbestos and water pressure to get into the apartments.
The incidents were reported at the Stone Cliff Estates and Victorian Apartments.
One apartment unit reported having their jewelry and cash stolen—a total of $1,400 worth of items stolen.
LPD advise people to check with their apartment and ask if there is scheduled maintenance. Police say to not let any one into your apartment unless you can confirm they're supposed to be there.
