Lincoln Police arrested a man they believe is responsible for an armed robbery in Northwest Lincoln.
Just after 7 a.m. Wednesday, officers were called to 2925 Northwest 12th Street on a report of an armed robbery at the U- Stop convince store.
Police say a masked man armed with a knife stole cash from the store.
Lincoln police searched the area with a canine unit and dusted for fingerprints inside the store.
During the investigation into the recent convenience store robberies, 28-year-old William Deets was identified by police as a possible suspect.
Police say a witness saw a silver vehicle leaving the area of Wednesday morning’s armed robbery at U-Stop, 2925 NW 12th Street. That vehicle description matched the vehicle Deets was known to drive.
Officers found the silver Chevy Impala parked in the 900 block of Court Street, outside the home of Deets’ female friend. According to police, clothing matching what the suspect wore during the robbery was located in her apartment. Cash proceeds and the knife were also recovered.
William Deets has been lodged at the Lancaster County Jail for robbery and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
Police are still investigating his involvement in recent, similar robberies.
