Lincoln, Neb. The driver of the car that hit a woman putting gas into her car late Thursday evening has been cited.
Police cited the driver for negligent driving and not wearing a seat belt.
It happened around 8:30 Thursday.
Witnesses say a red car heading southbound near 40th and C Streets hit a woman putting gas into her car late Thursday evening.
Crews closed 40th Street in both directions at 'C' Street to clean up the crash.
Witnesses on scene told 10/11 News it appeared a woman's car ran out of gas, she had her flashers on and was outside the car.
Lincoln Police confirmed the incident and said the woman was putting gas in her car, when another driver saw her at the last moment and hit the woman.
The witness said emergency crews took to the woman away in an ambulance.
Police said the woman's injuries are not considered life threatening.
LPD said the driver of the vehicle may have been reaching for a cigarette.
