A man found on a sidewalk has police following an extensive blood trail to determine where he was stabbed.

Just after 5:00 a.m. Saturday, police and medical crews were called to the 2700 block of Y street where a man was reported to have been stabbed.

Lincoln Police Captain Jason Stille said the victim was found on the ground near 27th & Y with a stab wound to his leg. Stille said there is a very extensive trail of blood which seems to backtrack and criss-cross itself several times.

Officers are working to follow the blood covered footprints to find the origin of the incident.

The condition of the victim, who is estimated to be in his 20's, was not available.
