Two men are recovering after being assaulted in, what police are calling, a drug related robbery.

Just before 2 a.m. Monday, Lincoln Police were called to an apartment at 515 South 25th Street after a 38-year-old man and his 19-year-old son answered a knock at their door and were attacked.

Police say three black men pushed their way into the apartment and one suspect hit the two victims with the butt of a rifle.

Both men have non life-threatening injuries.

LPD Captain Chris Peterson says cash was taken from the home and police believe the incident is drug related.

Officers are working to determine if the victims knew the suspects.
