Lincoln Police captured a hit and run suspect just a few blocks from crash scene.
According to Sergeant Tom Ward, officers were called to 18th and D Streets where witnesses reported seeing a crash and the driver running off.
According to Ward, the suspect hit a parked car which disabled the car he was driving, then he ran off.
Officers caught the man near 17th & C Streets where they took him into custody.
The owner of the parked car said she was initially upset about her car being wrecked. After learning he was drunk and he was using someone else's car, she felt sad for him.
"I can always get a replacement car. He will have to live with what he did to me and to her [the owner's] car. He has a lot more to worry about than I do."
Ward said damage to the parked car is near $6,000.
