Postal Service Service Changes For Pilger Residents Following Tornadoes

PILGER, Neb. The tornadoes that devastated the Pilger, Neb. community also heavily damaged the Pilger Post Office.

Until further notice, customers served by the Pilger Post Office can pick up their mail and obtain retail services at the Wisner Post Office, 1120 Ave. E. Wisner Post Office’s hours of operation have been temporarily extended:

· Monday – Friday from 8:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., and noon – 5 p.m.
· Saturday from 9 a.m. – noon.

The phone number at the Wisner Post Office is 402-529-6917. Customers are reminded to bring photo identification when picking up their mail.

The Pilger Post Office provides mail service for 186 customers through Post Office boxes, and rural deliveries. The rural route carrier who serves the Pilger area will be making deliveries today wherever it is safe and possible to do so. Any customers the rural route carrier is unable to reach will need to pick up their mail from the Wisner Post Office.

Since entry to the town of Pilger is currently restricted, all business mail is being held at the Wisner Post Office. When the restriction is lifted, mail deliveries to businesses in Pilger will resume where possible.

Customers whose homes or businesses were destroyed or severely damaged are encouraged to complete a temporary Change of Address request, in-person at a Post Office, or online at
