The Rocket community came together to support one of their own. Senior football player Zach Spencer was hurt earlier this week during practice while doing a conditioning drill and is in the hospital.
On Thursday parents and students held signs and wore shirts with the words pray for Zach. Players wore Zach's number 14 on the back of their helmets.
Clayton Heath, The Northeast Athletic Director, said, "We've got numbers on helmets. We've got his photos up in the stands
and so he's in our thoughts and prayers even tonight so we just keep praying he gets right back with us real fast."
Breanna Howard, a Sophomore at Northeast, said, "He has a lot of friends and he's always nice to everyone that he meets."
This was Lincoln Northeast's season opener. They lost to Grand Island 54-14.
