Nebraskans with unused or expired prescription drugs will have several places to safely dispose of them this weekend.
Attorney General Jon Bruning announced Wednesday that five sites in Nebraska will accept the medications on Saturday. It's part of the Nationwide Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.
The sites will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sites accepting the drugs are the Lincoln Neighborhood Pharmacy, the Fremont Area Medical Center, Columbus Community Hospital, St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island, and St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point.
This is the fourth take-back event organized by the attorney general's office. Past events have resulted in the collection and safe disposal of more than 14,700 pounds of unwanted drugs across the state.
