Celebrating Safely on St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day often brings in more traffic than usual to downtown Lincoln's bar scene, where many are offering holiday drink specials.
While some establishments get ready for the possibility of extra business on Sunday, police are also preparing.

L.P.D. says it's making sure all downtown officers are on duty as a precautionary measure, while N.S.P. is adding patrols and D.U.I. checkpoints.

N.S.P.'s effort is geared toward preventing accidents and injuries due to drunk driving. A nineteen thousand dollar grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety will help pay for the extra enforcement.
