Protecting the Salt Creek Tiger Beetle

Over the years, you may have heard of what's called the Salt Creek Tiger Beetle. But, did you know this beetle is on at the edge of extinction?

The Salt Creek Tiger Beetle is one of the country's most critically endangered insect species.

But the Lincoln Children's Zoo is involved in the effort to protect the beetles.

John Chapo with the zoo tells us how the beetles were unearthed at the zoo Wednesday morning and released into the wild in some salt marshes north of Lincoln.
