Lincoln, Neb.-- Thousands of runners who signed up for the 37th Annual Lincoln Marathon will be training hard the next four months.
Sign-ups started at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday and sold out fast.
The race is allowing 12,500 people this year which is more than in past years.
Despite the snowy New Year's Day, runner Samantha Brandt was out in the cold already training for the big day.
Brandt says there's just something about signing up for a big race, like the Lincoln Marathon, that the next day you just want to get out and do it.
This is Brandt's first full marathon and she says she's excited especially for the crowds.
The race is May 4, 2014.
