SWAT Situation Ends Peacefully

The SWAT team surrounded a Lincoln home Thursday and took a man into custody.

The employer of a woman who lives at 2242 N. 32nd Street called police to check on her because she hasn't been to work in four days and was afraid she was being held against her will by her boyfriend.

When police arrived at the home around 10:40 a.m. the couple was inside along with some children.

Police say the man, 27 year old Johnathan Williams, was uncooperative likely because of two misdemeanor arrest warrants out for him.

The SWAT team was called in because police believed Williams was armed with a handgun. Police were able to contact Williams by phone and through negotiations the man turned himself in around 12:20 p.m.

He was arrested for his two warrants, one for driving under suspension and one for a misdemeanor assault after a bar fight.

No gun was found inside the home. The woman and her children were inside and denied ever being held against their will.
