School Rallies Around Student Battling Cancer

By  |

The friends and teachers of a Lincoln Northstar student are banding together to support one of their own.

Northstar senior Mikaelah Molifua was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

Her prognosis is good, but she has to go up to Omaha for expensive chemotherapy treatments.

Students, faculty and staff hosted a soup lunch and auction Sunday.

They hope to raise enough so the family doesn't have to worry about bills.

Mikaelah says the support means so much to her. She says, "It's a big relief because I know people are there for me and I know I have the support I need to get through it. Without all the support I don't think I'd be as strong as I am."

The senior isn't letting cancer slow her down.

She plans to head to college next year and study to be a teacher.

If you'd like to help, you can donate to the Mikaelah Molifua Fund at any Wells Fargo branch.
