In a lengthy speech on the Congress floor, Senator Deb Fischer delivers a clear message to fellow lawmakers: she's frustrated.
Now, in the 10th day of a government shutdown, she says it's time for Congress to get to work like Nebraskans do.
She wants lawmakers to do what needs to be done to open the government.
But, she says it's about more than the basics and that it's time to take a look at bigger issues.
"I rise to testify to the simple truth that a government should not intentionally make life harder for its people," Senator Fischer said. "I rise to say: enough."
She said she's tired of willful ignorance in Washington when it comes to the nation's debt.
Senator Fischer said it comes down to agreement on Capitol Hill and she's willing to work with any of her colleagues to find a solution.
