Now that the Supreme Court has rules on the health care reform, it's up to the States to make some difficult decisions. Here in Nebraska, state senators are hitting the round running with a series of meetings.
Senators met with health care professionals to discuss implementing the affordable care act and a public exchange.
No decisions were made, these meetings are simply a way for senators to hear from the people.
Senator Jeremy Nordquist said although the meeting is part of a series that was scheduled before the U.S. Supreme Court's recent decision, today feels like the start of a tough road ahead. He says the meeting provides some clarity and more education on moving forward.
"We don't have a lot of time for this date, so as soon as we can get moving, the better, because there is a lot to get our hands around. For us to do it right, we have to take some time to study it and understand what the implications are for the state and Nebraska families," said Nordquist.
The health care professionals had a chance to voice their concerns about the Affordable Care Act.
