Lincoln Police are investigating several shots fired into a house.
Just after 11 p.m. Monday night, police were called to the area of 24th and Holdrege for reports of shots fired.
According to Captain Michon Morrow, officers contacted a residence in the 1300 block of North 24th and they denied any problem.
Morrow said officers contacted them a second time and they admitted their house had been hit by gunfire.
Residents of the home tell police they were relaxing with friends after an afternoon barbeque when they heard gunshots from outside the home. According to police, all people inside the home said they took cover.
A broken sliding glass door, at least 17 bullet holes, and 12 spent casings were found after officers searched the area. Police said all bullets appear to be from the same type of gun and believe shots were fired from an alley near the home.
Morrow said some bullets traveled through the exterior and then interior walls as well. No injuries were reported. Police said they haven't responded to any incidents at the home within the last year.
There are no known suspects at this time. Witnesses said they did see a car in the area at the time of the incident, but aren't sure if it was related.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call Lincoln Police or CrimeStoppers.
