A sex assault victim says she owes her life to a man who witnessed her attack and called police.

According to Lincoln Police, Wednesday morning at 10:30, a man heard arguing in the hallway at an apartment in East Lincoln.

When he went to investigate, police say he saw 50-year-old Seco Muhic drag a woman into her apartment.

Police say Muhic had a previous relationship with the woman and they haven't been together for several years. They say he showed up at her apartment and began banging on the door and windows.

They say the 50-year-old victim tried to get away, but Muhic grabbed her.

Police say Muhic strangled the woman and then sexually assaulted her in her own apartment.

The witness saw it all and called 911.

Muhic was taken into custody for first degree sexual assault and strangulation.
