Lincoln Police have cited a man for littering, after witnesses reported his vehicle was involved in a shots fired call.
About 12:30 Saturday morning, police were called to the area of 23rd and Potter Streets after a witness reported hearing a single shot and breaking glass. The witness reported seeing a red pickup leaving the area right after the noise.
According to Sergeant Craig Price, minutes later, officers spotted the truck and pulled it over near 16th and R Streets.
Several police cruisers from Lincoln, University of Nebraska and State Patrol were present, as officers with guns drawn, surrounded the pickup and instructed two men to exit the vehicle.
Price said, officers at the scene located the source of the noise, a broken vodka bottle. Both men in the truck admitted they had broken the bottle in the area.
Price said one man was cited for littering before both were released.
