Two people face charges after a boat collision Friday evening at Branched Oak Lake near Lincoln.

The Nebraska Game And Parks Commission says eight people were taken to hospitals after a motorboat collided with a drifting sailboat.

Details of their injuries have not been released.

Authorities say a 19-year-old Lincoln man suspected of being drunk when his motorboat hit a sailboat on a southeast Nebraska lake has a record of drunken driving in a motor vehicle.

Court records say Kyle Garrett was given nine months of probation in November after pleading no contest to misdemeanor DUI.

He was fined a total of $700 for the DUI and marijuana possession.

A 19-year-old passenger in the motorboat, Dylan Colton, also is suspected of being a minor in possession of alcohol.
