It was a pretty lonely scene at the Lincoln airport Thursday. About the only people there are the employees. However there were a couple passengers who showed up early, hoping their flight would leave on time.
"I'm trying to get home to Houston, Texas to visit my family," said Rynell Ware of Lincoln. "We were supposed to catch a flight at 1 p.m. and that one got cancelled. So now there's one at 4:55 p.m. and that's what I'm hoping for."
Unfortunately for Rynell, all flights from the Lincoln airport were grounded Thursday, and Friday doesn't look much better.
"We don't know what tomorrow's going to bring because the storm is moving north so as it gets into the Minneapolis or Chicago area it could still affect flights as it hits those major hubs," said John Wood, Lincoln Airport Authority Executive Director.
Before you leave home, make sure to check your flight status so you're not left in an empty airport.
