Update: Police Release the Name of Victim in Deadly Motorcycle Crash

Lincoln Police have released the name of a man killed in a motorcycle accident on Wednesday.

Officer Katie Flood says 47-year-old Dennis Simpson of Lincoln, died after he collided with a 16-year-old girl driving a Mazda6.

Officer Floods said it happened around 7:45 pm at the intersection of 18th Street and Superior.

Flood said Simpson was driving a Suzuki sport bike when the accident happened.

Flood said Simpson was heading eastbound in the outside lane of 18th Street and hit the rear passenger side of the car headed westbound on Superior attempting to turn onto 18th Street.

Flood said Simpson was wearing a helmet. She says witnesses performed CPR at the scene until emergency crews arrived.

Both Simpson and the teen driving the car were transported to BryanLGH West. Simpson was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Officers are still determining whether speed was a factor in the crash.

No word yet on the extent of the injuries of the woman driving the car.
