Car Slides on Ice Colliding with Star Tran Bus Near 14th & Hwy 2

A StarTran bus and car collided southeast of 14th & Highway 2 in Lincoln just before 2 p.m. Thursday.

The small Toyota car was southbound on 14th when the driver hit ice and lost control crossing the median colliding with the bus then landed in the ditch.

Following the crash the StarTran Bus caught fire. Only the driver was in the bus at the time and he got out safely.

The crash happened right in front of Quality Inn & Suites. An employee of the motel says the four people in the car came inside, some of them covered in blood. The employee gave the crash victims some towels to clean up with.

All four people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injures.
