UNL Chancellor Harvey Perlman has high hopes for the University of Nebraska, but he knows there is a lot of work to be done to get where he wants UNL to be.
Perlman talked about academics, budget and innovation campus during his 14th Annual State of the University Address. He pointed out the major growth and renovations being done in Lincoln and made a renewed emphasis on increasing enrollment.
Perlman said, "When next history is written, it will be the beginning of the 21st Century, not the turn of the 20th, that is regarded as our golden age. When we regained our rightful place among leading Universities in the country."
Perlman said getting and keeping more students will help every other area of the University. He also said he wants UNL to continue to expand and grow and admits Innovation Campus has developed slower than he expected it to. All in all, Perlman was excited about the future.
