It's not something you'd normally see - a group of students in the capital city voluntarily taking a test.
It's the state portion of the national Math Counts competition.
88 teams and more than 300 students are taking part across Nebraska.
There are 13 teams competing in the capital city.
All these students already qualified in the regional exam.
Organizers say it's important to encourage a student's love of math and point them to a future using their skills.
The students who win today will go on to the national Math Counts contest in Florida.
They'll have the chance to compete for scholarships.
