An Oklahoma man is facing charges after a sex assault near Fairbury.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, 29-year-old Tracy Rose of Balko, Oklahoma was arrested in Texas on December 26th. He was wanted after an assault that happened on November 25th.
Deputies say the victim and her 4 year old son were in a vehicle with the Rose that night. The victim and the suspect are the parents of the 4-year-old but are estranged.
Deputies say Rose was attempting to remove his property from the victims home in Carleton, NE and got the victim and her child into the vehicle to go to Fairbury.
They say Rose stopped the car in the area of Highway 15 and Highway 4. Deputies say the suspect held the victim against her will, assaulted her and did this in front of the 4-year-old child.
When the assault stopped Rose drove the two back to Carleton, the victim then called the Thayer Co. Sheriff’s Office who arrived and escorted the subject from the property.
An affidavit for an arrest warrant was submitted to the Jefferson County Court and a warrant was issued for Tracy D. Rose for Sexual Assault, Strangulation, Felony Child Abuse, False Imprisonment and 3rd Degree domestic Assault.
On the 26th of December 2013 Law Enforcement in Hutchinson County Texas arrested Rose on our Warrant. Rose waived extradition from Texas and was transported to Jefferson County on the 30th of December 2013.
Rose remains in the Jefferson County Jail on a bond of $500,000.00 10%.
