A Lincoln man is in custody after leading police on a wild chase.
Captain Jason Stille says it started around 8 p.m. Wednesday when officers were called to the 3700 Block of Everett for a domestic assault.
Stille says 24-year-old Kelle McCormick left before police arrived.
Deputies with the Lancaster County Sheriff's Department spotted McCormick around 1 a.m. Thursday.
Police attempted to pull him over near 13th and South Streets, but he refused and led them on a brief chase.
Stille says McCormick crashed into a utility pole at 27th and Randolph, then fled on foot.
An LPD canine officer tracked him to a nearby backyard where he was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault, false imprisonment and fleeing to avoid arrest.
