The Lincoln/Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force seized possible K2 and drug paraphernalia from a local smoke shop during a compliance check.
On July 13 at 11:24 a.m., the task force served a search warrant at Dirt Cheap located at 2705 Randolph Street. Investigators seized 1,192 canisters of suspected K2, a synthetic cannabinoid. Paraphernalia commonly used for ingesting illegal substances was also located at the business. Police said both defendants should have reasonably known the paraphernalia located within Dirt Cheap was being sold with the intent for buyers to use in conjunction with the synthetic cannabinoids the business also sells. Paraphernalia seized during the service of the warrant included 1,807 pipes, 1,101 package of rolling papers, 362 scales and 249 grinders.
The business owner, 33-year-old Allen Peithman, and an employee, 21-year-old Amber Bertschinger, were lodged at the Lancaster County Jail. Peithman was cited for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (synthetic cannabinoid) within 1000 feet of a playground and Possession with intent to deliver drug paraphernalia within 1000 feet of a playground.
Bertschinger was cited for Delivery of controlled substance (synthetic cannabinoid) w/in 1000 feet of a playground and Delivery of drug paraphernalia within 1000 ft. of a playground.
Police said Dirt Cheap has been selling the drug paraphernalia and synthetic cannabinoids within 1000 feet of American Legion Park.
