Man Arrested Following High Speed Chase, Crash

Police arrest a man after, they say, he led officers on a high speed chase that ended in a crash.

Authorities arrested 27-year-old Douglas Shaw just before 1 a.m. Monday.

Police say Shaw led officers on a high speed chase Sunday morning after he was spotted driving an SUV with no front plate and fictitious back plates.

The pursuit started at 27th and Vine but the officer called it off at 27th and 'H' due to excessive speed.

Moments later, Shaw's SUV rear-ended another car.

Police say Shaw then fled on foot. He was arrested early Monday morning.

The two occupants of the car he hit suffered minor injuries but are expected to be OK.

Shaw faces felony charges of fleeing to avoid arrest and leaving the scene of an injury accident, as well as numerous traffic violations.
