Lincoln, Neb. - Three teenagers in Lincoln were caught with several stolen items early Wednesday morning.
The Lincoln Police Department tells 10/11 News that they got a call at 2:35 a.m. on Wednesday. A neighbor on the 1700 block of Jefferson was concerned about a suspicious truck parked in the neighborhood. The caller said that there was at least one person inside and it had been there for about 30 minutes.
When officers arrived, the truck was empty and three juveniles were seen and heard running away.
A K-9 officer was called in and tracked a scent. Golf clubs, a gas can and other items were found discarded on the ground.
Meanwhile, an officer found three teenage boys nearby and was questioning them. That's when the K-9 officer traced a scent right to the boys.
Once police looked in the truck, more stolen items were discovered.
Police contacted seven victims. The items were taken that night or early morning and were originally taken from unlocked vehicles and sheds.
Police say two of the suspects are 16 years old and one is 15.
