Temporary Interstate 80 Lane Closures West of Aurora Begin April 7

By  |

The Nebraska Department of Roads (NDOR) announces that construction will begin on four bridges on I-80, approximately four miles west of Aurora, the week of April 7.

The $642,678 project is anticipated to be completed in June. The purpose of the project is to install an automatic anti-icing spray system on four bridges. The project will also include construction of a 60’ tall camera tower and a pump house building that will house the anti-icing
chemicals.

Intermittent lane closures will be needed throughout the project on eastbound and westbound I-80. The lane closures will be restricted to daytime hours only and will not be allowed on weekends.

The NDOR’s manager for this project is Ben Merchant of Grand Island. Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously through construction zones.
