Three Elementary Students Injured in School Bus Crash

Three elementary age students were injured following an accident involving a school bus Friday morning.

NORFOLK, Neb. -- Three elementary age students were injured following an accident involving a school bus Friday morning.

Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger says the accident happened about 8 a.m. Friday morning. Unger says rescue units from Stanton, Madison and Leigh responded to the accident on 827th Road about nine miles northwest of Leigh.

Unger says a school bus from the Leigh district overturned, falling about four feet into a creek bed. Twenty students were on the bus at the time. Two girls, ages eight and nine, were transported to Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk with non-life threatening injuries. A third student was treated for minor injuries at the school itself. Unger says area residents helped transport the remaining students to school."
