Three yellow labs. Three different owners. All missing at one time. One simply ran off on a walk, but was found. Another was reunited with its family at the humane society. Sadly, the third was found dead Wednesday.
Trigger, the dog we introduced you to on 10/11 News at Ten Tuesday was found dead in a ditch. Trigger's owner, Wanda McNally, says a farmer found him and notified the family.
The Seward County Sheriff's office thinks the dog was possibly hit by a car, but there was no blood on the road. Trigger's mom says they'll never know for sure what happened to him.
The family originally thought the dog was stolen, because of a suspicious situation that happened back on Oct. 9.
"My husband was out trimming grass behind a tree and Trigger started barking," McNally said. "My husband stepped out and there was this vehicle coming down the lane. The minute the vehicle saw him it stopped and backed out."
It's a sad ending for a dog that meant a lot to his owners a.k.a. his family.
"You have friends but there is something about a dog and that relationship people can't fulfill."
What makes it harder for the family is Trigger isn't the first yellow lab they've owned.
Roy was the first, and he was put to sleep simply because he was old.
