Tires from a trailer help soften the landing when a van rolls onto its side in an early morning crash.
Just before 3 a.m. Tuesday, police and fire crews were called to the 5200 block of Cornhusker for a reported rollover accident.
Lincoln Police Captain Anthony Butler said a van traveling about 45 miles per hour rear ended a pickup pulling a trailer filled with tires.
Tires flew from the trailer and as the van rolled onto its side, it rested on some of them, softening the landing.
There were several people in the truck and one person in the van.
Officials say no one was seriously hurt in the accident. Lincoln Fire Captain Bob Borer said one person was evaluated at the scene before being released.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
