Traffic Stop Nets Nearly 39 Pounds of Marijuana

A traffic stop in Lancaster County led to the seizure of nearly 39 lbs of marijuana and the arrest of two Oregon men.

Just after noon on Sunday, November 11, a trooper stopped an eastbound 2001 Ford pickup for following too close just near Exit 397 on Interstate 80. A Nebraska State Patrol canine alerted to the odor of drugs coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of 38.9 lbs of marijuana. The marijuana was in vacuum sealed bags, in an external fuel tank, in the bed of the pickup.

The driver of the vehicle, Gregory T. Miller, 43, Tualatin, Oregon and a passenger in the vehicle Britt J. Bones, 38, Eagle Point, Oregon were lodged in the Lancaster County Corrections each on a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver
