LINCOLN, Neb. -- Two Lincoln men were caught in the act breaking into a Lincoln home.

Lancaster County deputies say they witnessed 25-year-old Logan Alder and 25-year-old Thomas Huston leaving a detached garage just after 10:15 p.m. Tuesday at 8000 S. 148th Street.

LSO said one of the men rang the doorbell and when the victim answered the door, he saw one man running around the side of the house and another trying to break into a vehicle.

The victim ran into a bedroom and called police before the two men entered a garage door into the kitchen.

Deputies say the only thing taken was a key to a vehicle, which was later recovered.

LSO said the men were trying to steal gas.

Alder and Huston were cited and lodged for burglary and criminal mischief.
