The Gage County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two vehicle injury accident that occurred on Highway 8 at SW 61st Road.
Roy Schwisow, 58 years old of Beatrice, was westbound on Highway 8 driving a 2006 GMC Sierra pickup when Zachary Rash, 17 years old of Diller, was eastbound on Highway 8 driving a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. Rash attempted to turn northbound on SW 61st Road and failed to yield the right of way.
Rash was transported to Beatrice Community Hospital via Beatrice Fire and Rescue ambulance.
Rash’s passenger, Tyler Rash, 15 years old also of Diller, was transported to Bryan West for his injuries via StarCare air ambulance.
Schwisow and his passenger did not report any injuries. Both vehicles are considered totaled. Seatbelts were in use and air bags were deployed. Injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor. A citation is pending.
