Lincoln, Neb. -- The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is encouraging visitors to the newly expanded Memorial Stadium to be cautious of the heat this weekend.
Officials expect a heat index of more than 100 on Saturday while the Cornhuskers play the University of Wyoming. Visitors are encouraged to drink a lot of water and try to wear loose-fitting and light-colored clothing.
Emergency responders will be on hand to offer medical services and first aid stations.
Visitors are expected to set a stadium attendance record for the season-opening game. The expanded Memorial Stadium has added 6,000 new seats, for a total attendance of more than 91,000.
