Lincoln, NE The 10/11 Weather Team is predicting temperatures close to 100 degrees on Saturday.
The first Husker game of the season will be hot and a big draw for fans.
Because of the heat, University of Nebraska-Lincoln officials are urging fans to protect themselves from extreme heat at Memorial Stadium.
Kick off in Lincoln is set for 7 p.m. against the University of Wyoming.
The gates to the stadium open at 5:30 p.m.
It is recommended that fans in the stadium drink lots of water, avoid alcohol and sugary drinks, stay in shade and wear loose-fitting, light-colored clothing.
Water fountains are available at the stadium on the main concourses. Two large, portable water fountains will be put in place for Saturday's game at both sides of the stadium.
Fans also will be allowed to bring commercial bottled water containers of up to 20 ounces into the stadium.
It must be unopened before entering the stadium.
