University Police have arrested two men for possession of narcotics on campus.
According to UNL Police Sergeant Jerry Plessel, early Friday morning, officers were called to Abel Hall after a reported smell of marijuana in the hallway. Plessel said the smell was of fresh, unburnt pot.
Officers contacted one man, 18-year-old Ryan Petitt and then obtained a warrant to search the apartment. Plessel said they found drug paraphenalia and narcotics during the search. Pettit was cited for the paraphenalia and lodged in jail for possession of controlled substance.
Authorities began to search for the other man living in the apartment, 18-year-old Seth Hicks, who turned himself at the jail early Friday afternoon.
Hicks was also cited for paraphenalia and lodged for possession of controlled substance.
Both Hicks and Petitt are students at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. Both students list Lincoln as their hometown.
