Vandalism Using Explosives, Common Around Fourth of July

Police say it's a crime that becomes more common around the Fourth of July, vandalism with explosives.

A Lincoln woman was the victim of vandals early Sunday morning.

Lincoln police say the woman lives in the 1400 block of north 61st street. She woke up around 3:30 to the sound of glass shattering.

When she went to investigate, she found a piece of her mailbox in the living room.

Someone had used an explosive device to blow up the mailbox.

Luckily no one was hurt..

Police have no suspects at this time.
