People in one Lincoln neighborhood woke up to a mess on Labor Day morning, as vandals damaged mailboxes and smashed a car window.
It happened in the 1200 block of Sycamore, which is just west of 84th and A Streets.
Lincoln Police said they had five reports of mailboxes that were damage. 10/11 also saw the back window of a car was also smashed out.
Jerald Study woke up Monday morning to police knocking on his door. His Husker mailbox was dented and scratched overnight.
Study told 10/11, "I'm going to try and beat it back together, keep it in one piece. Its a $50 mailbox they don't give them away, besides that Nebraska won, they shouldn't have beat up the mailbox."
Police said the damage ranged from the 900 block to the 1200 block of Sycamore.
Study believed the vandals didn't target him or his neighbors.
"We don't have any kids in school, the two that I see, they don't have any kids in school. It was just somebody wanting to have some fun at somebody else's expense."
His only hope, whoever did this comes forward.
Study said, "Pay for a new one, lets get down the road, pay for part of it, lets just move on down the road."
Because no one heard the vandals overnight, Lincoln Police don't have a description of the suspects or the car they were possibly driving in.
